A new corporate campus for a leading West Michigan auto parts company wanted to ensure its employees were ‘covered’ when it comes to getting to work.
No matter where they park, there is a canopy to direct them into the office without the effects of heavy Michigan snowfall, rain and even intense summer sun.
In total, 4 cantilevered walkway canopies were installed in the employee parking lots. There are 3 structures measuring 14’ x 250’ and 1 measuring 14′ x 400′.
The structures feature a standing seam roof over a factory stained tongue and groove substrate. Bringing the warmth of pine under the steel frame canopies really makes the structures look nice. Integrated lights were wired inside the steel frame and mounted flush against the steel beams for nighttime security and wayfinding.
Special thanks to Dave Alphenaar of GMB architects in Holland for working with CEAS+ on the design of the canopies.
